National Apprenticeship Week 2014 - Day 2

National Apprenticeship Week 2014 - Day 2

Tuesday 4th March - NAW2014 Round up...

Out and About with Gordon:

Gordon Simpson, our Employer Engagement Officer, was at Ryburn Valley High School today with other representatives from Calderdale College. As a team they met with students about everything the college has to offer, with Gordon focusing on the benefits of an Apprenticeship. Gordon returned to College enthusiastic about his visit but worn out from carrying the fantastic guides and promotional materials he has to offer. If you think your students would benefit from a visit from Gordon give Calderdale Training a call on 01422 399325.

Recommend a Friend

We are continuing to promote the RECOMMEND A FRIEND incentive. So far this is working well with our larger Employers who are hoping to recruit a number of Apprentices each month. For more information visit our dedicated page, RECOMMEND A FRIEND

Apprentice Hoodies

Our  specially designed Apprentice Hoodies have now arrived in College. Training Officers for the Apprentice skill areas have been sending through details of eligible Apprentices so that the distribution of Hoodies can take place over the rest of the week. Look out for photographs and happy faces of those Apprentices receiving theirs.

A Week in the Life of Our Winner

Today we were able to see Josh in action as a student as he met with his Training Officer Ian Anderson. They worked through what work had been achieved since their last visit and set SMART targets for the weeks ahead. Josh said that he is enjoying this Advanced Level studies and has already completed work on the units that he has chosen.

In the afternoon Josh helped out at the Calderdale College admissions event, greeting visitors as they arrived and generally assisting to make sure that everything ran smoothly.

(Joshua Bates, 2013 Regional Award Winner, has agreed to be followed around this week. We will be capturing him in his every day working life as an Advanced Business Administration Apprentice within the busy Marketing Department at Calderdale College.)
