Apprentices Secure Full-Time Jobs

Calderdale College have been working in partnership with Covéa Insurance and helped launch their Apprenticeship Scheme last year as part of their wider employability strategy. They were the first four Calderdale College Apprentices to earn places on the Apprenticeship Scheme and have now secured full-time jobs at the Halifax-based Insurance Company.

Andrew Rodney, Director of Business Development at Calderdale College said: ‘We are pleased and privileged to have been the provider of training for the Apprenticeship Programme at Covéa Insurance. The Insurer recognised the benefits of embedding Apprenticeships as part of their recruitment strategy and with support from Calderdale College, recruited Apprentices to fill Customer Service vacancies.”

“In collaboration with Training Officer, Claire Williams, Covéa Insurance have trained and developed the Apprentices to enable them to successfully gain their NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service and become full time valuable members of staff. We look forward to rolling these exciting opportunities out to a new cohort of Apprentices,” continued Andrew.

Adrian Furness, Claims Director of Covéa Insurance, praises the scheme: "Many young people are finding it tougher than ever to find their first job opportunity. As a major employer within Calderdale we recognised we could play a part in helping young people find an alternative to university, where qualifications and prospects were still a key feature. From a business perspective, Apprenticeships give employers access to a new pool of talent whilst bringing young people a step closer to a rewarding career."

Covéa Insurance have since taken on four additional Calderdale College Apprentices and we wish them every success in their future learning and job prospects.
